Provision of civil aviation with air navigation services within the Georgian airspace is conducted by SAKAERONAVIGATSIA Ltd.
General functions of the organization:
• Air Traffic Services;
• Provision of Navigation surveillance, communication and lightning systems;
• Meteorological service;
• Aeronautical Information Service.
SAKAERONAVIGATSIA was founded in 1993 as the limited liability company. After obtaining the independence and establishing self-financing principles the organization started rapid development.
Significant changes covering each field of the organization like full-scale technical re-equipment, implementation of modern systems and staff trainings have started since 2004 in order to meet the international standards and raise the safety level. As a result the airspace of Georgia became one of the most important parts of the Eurasian air corridor and the air traffic flow increased significantly.
